Dead Men Animation cgi perfomance showcase

This animation is based on a line from a screenplay I wrote last year. I performed the peice myself, wanting to get more involved in the acting process of animation instead of just taking a sound bite from somewhere. I knew the context and subtext surrounding the action which helped with this beat. From there I always like to act and film the perfomance then go on to study the movement from a technical and artistic stand point. From the refrence I quickly create a rough fondation of the basic mouth shapes and keys. Gradually I move further and further from the refrence as the animation evolves.
photographic collection 2009
it always seems impossible at the time to know what will make a good photograph. i could say i don't know why i felt the impulse to point a lens and press a button for any of these pictures, there's definitely many times when i get photos back from the developers and i think why the hell did i do that? but sometimes and nearly always unexpectedly something jumps out at me that i never thought i would give a second thought too.
that's whats great about photography, its a second chance to see something and the more i practice the more i see and the luckier i seem to get.

my first attempt at a brick film animation, and stopmotion for that matter. super short, simple film, just trying things out before I move on to bigger more ambitious things.

redland is a short film i've been making with friends for a few months now. we're nearly half way through and this is just a small glimpse. the film when complete will probably run in at about seven minutes or so.
you could almost call it a silent film, a very visual story about two people traveling from train station to train station by unusual means.
